How to modify HTML codes on blogger platform

Indeed, the return of the 'how to' blog posts! I'm writing this post as per the request of a friend using blogger. Thought it might come in useful for others too. Note that I'll be going real slow on details so nobody gets lost along the way. So, let's jump right on topic!

Step 1: Go to your blog home page: https://www.blogger.com/home
Step 2: Click on your blog name in the blog list(if you have more than one)
Step 3: You are now on your blog dashboard. You'll find the menu on the left with "Overview, posts, pages, etc.." options. Go to "Template" in the list.
Step 4: Here, you should find two buttons. One of them is "Edit HTML". That's your guy. Click him!

Now, it is strongly advised to keep a backup copy of all the codes which will be displayed in the window that pops up. Just copy-paste those codes in a text file somewhere and save it.
So, that's it. If you have any other queries in those regards, let me know.

Must-have html meta tags to make Google's spider happy

web spider with html tags
Prior to linkbuilding and other off-page campaigns, another must-have on-site SEO process to be carried out is the addition of proper meta tags. I'm going to list some of the tags I (yes, this is my personal opinion, your rebuttal of any point is more than welcome) deem important to have on your webpage.
(for the newbies) These are meant to be added in the <head> section. And a little wiki: Many sites, in particular search engines, use spidering as a means of providing up-to-date data.

Where to register blogs for backlinks from high DA and PR sites

Here is a list of FREE online directories for blogs I have come across in my various quests to increase my own Blog authority on the web. So, the big question! WHY go through all that pain in the butt? Getting backlinks from sites with authority, that is, have high Domain Authority (DA) and Page Rank (PR) increases your own DA and PR.

Stolen from seomoz's tutorial about Domain authority this is what it means:
"Domain Authority represents SEOmoz's best prediction about how a website will perform in search engine rankings. Use Domain Authority when comparing one site to another or tracking the “strength” of your website over time. We calculate this metric by combining all of our other link metrics (linking root domains, number of total links, mozRank, mozTrust, etc.) into a one single score."

And Page rank according to seomoz again is:
"Page Authority predicts the likelihood of a single page to rank well, regardless of its content. The higher the Page Authority, the greater the potential for that individual page to rank well in search results."

The diagram (I made! thank you! thank you!) here is a pretty good illustration of the factors affecting Domain Authority and Page Ranks.

Enough of random blog posts!

Weird.. to have me have a go at randomness.. So recently, I have come across SEO blogs which talked about the importance of content in a blog post. We hear everywhere how Quality is important: Quality over Quantity. I do agree with that... 100% even. OK, lets say 80%.
Quantity is just as important for search engine to get material to rank you with, as they are to users to quench their thirst for more and more info. I'd take the following examples from the friend's blog I am currently working on.

screenshot of master-slave-paradox blog post I'll start by the worst example Ever... this forlorn post has the least views on the blog although it is the latest one published there. Why? It has no weight. A crawler would not have enough data to rank this page properly. For the human eye, it is read through in one glance. Yes, one might argue (we all know who that "one" might be) that this is food for thought, and of course, I agree with that. But this is not enough for a blog post. It is not enough to catch the reader's attention, and there is not even room for a "read further..." there (note that this is not a MUST). Maybe if the dear author expressed her views more explicitly this would have been different.
Through my several blog digs (yes, I dig blogs), I have found that the optimum number of words for a blog to catch a user's and a user agent's (crawlers) attention is 700 words.

Blogger tips for better visibility on Search Engines

To begin with, let me clear things out.. I am a beginner SEO, freshly shoved into that world. I'm currently still learning and positive.. AND negative feedback are most welcome.
So here goes, the first assignment I undertook. There is this bitchy buddy of mine (love her anyway) who is pretty good at blogging and actually takes pleasure in doing so. So, I offered to make her opinion reach out to more people by applying my expertise *cough* on it.
http://theexperimentoflife.blogspot.com/
Right now, it still is a budding project but, if we add some sweat to it, it sure will bloom. And of course, there is also the fact that we're going to make money from it once we obtain a generous amount of regular visitors.
The steps I have undertaken to make this blog the popular guy/girl in the yard are as follows:
